Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), secures a third consecutive term as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The extension, proposed by Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva for the second time, gained unanimous support from all ACC members during the annual general meeting in Bali.

Taking over in January 2021 from Nazmul Hassan, Shah has been pivotal in steering the ACC. Under his leadership, the council successfully organized the Asia Cup in T20 format in 2022 and in ODI format in 2023.

Expressing gratitude, Shah stated, “I am thankful to the ACC Board for their continued trust. Our commitment remains towards the holistic development of the sport, especially in regions where cricket is still emerging. The ACC is dedicated to fostering cricket across Asia.”

Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva praised Shah’s role in unearthing and promoting new talent in cricketing powerhouses like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Pankaj Khimji, Chairman of Oman Cricket and ACC Vice-President, extended congratulations, attributing Shah for transforming ACC tournaments into valuable investments, contributing to the game’s regional growth.
